Hey Everybody, we have some sweet tidbits to tell you about, read on:

+ We have a new application on Facebook called ASTROSATCHEL GIFTS: you can send and collect Astrosatchel items and post them to your profile. Don’t forget to join our group ASTROSATCHEL ACCESSORIES while you’re logged in too!!

+By popular demand, I’ll be opening the studio a bit more regularly for the next little while, so you if you’re coming to Vancouver this summer, be sure to come by and visit us!! Find all of our upcoming events and openhouses in our newly minted CALENDAR section (in our the Categories section of our blog)

+We’ve added more websites to our Online Shopping section, everybody has different stock, so now it’s even easier to find the perfect bag.

Now if only I could find a daily hookup in Vancouver for vegan donuts like these super yummy ones we had in Portland, life would be perfect!!XO Janna

ASTROSATCHEL EVENTS FOR 2009:

Open Studio Saturdays are back by popular demand!!

Come and visit us at the studio from 12-4pm, no appointment neccesary!! We’re at 339 Railway Street, buzzer #208….. just east of Gastown. Come by and say hello, I’ll be there!!

JUNE 20th 

JULY 18th

AUGUST 22nd

AUGUST 8+9 I’ll be at ART IN THE GARDEN, out at the UBC Botanical Gardens. Come and browse my work, as well as that of other artists in a beautiful outdoor setting.

AUGUST 23 I’ll be at Britannia Center as part of Artful Sundays, which is happening in addition to Car Free Sundays on Commercial Drive. Come by and say hello between patio visits and impromptu meetings in the middle of the road (which can at other times, be dangerous).

SEPTEMBER 19+20, the studio will be open, and our friend Erin Dolman is visiting with her fabulous jewelry, so we’ll have all your fall adornment needs covered, be they in sterling silver, or cosy cashmere. 

NOVEMBER 20+21+22  The studio will be open for the EASTSIDE CULTURE CRAWL from 5-10 Friday, 11-5 Saturday and Sunday. 

DECEMBER 12+13 Come and visit us at Heritage Hall (Main+16th Ave in Vancouver) for SHINY FUZZY MUDDY 10, our annual Holiday Art and Design Market. Support local artists by buying locally made gifts!! There will be even more artists this year, so truly there’s something for every taste and budget!!

What to wear today?

Sometimes I have a hard time getting dressed…… mostly that I can’t pick just ONE thing to wear. I feel this way about our summer clothing collection, currently available at Militant Penguin here in Vancouver…. take a look:

Our Trapeze top is perfect for breezy afternoons, or evenings out. It’s unrestrictive cut floats away from the body, so it’s a good accompaniment when you’ve just pulled your skinny jeans off the clothes line.

Our Reversible Dress does double duty: you can wear it with the cross over in the front as shown, or wear it’s straight across neckline, the choice is yours. This style is flattering and comfortable as it creates a waist thanks to the banded detail, which cinches, but not in an I-can’t-breathe sort of way.

Perfect for hot days, our Ruffled Tube Top is more dressed up than a t-shirt, but just as comfortable.

Our Wrap Skirt would be perfect for work with a tank top, little cardigan and some flats for some 50’s chic ala Mad Men.

the wait is over…..

Hey Everybody, the wait is over….. our new website is here!! You may notice some changes, so refresh your browser and have a poke around, there’s lots of great new stuff in here!!

I’d really like to thank Dingo at Apollo Nine Design for all his hard work, particularly on our newly updated webstore, which promises to make your shopping experience better than ever.

You’ll now need to create an account to shop with us, but it’ll be worth it: now we can ship to multiple addresses, you can create a shopping cart to revisit later, you can forward items to friends and we have more items on offer than ever before, with more to come soon.
